Emergency life saving surgery for Yuki
Donation protected
*update from 12th October*
Unfortunately it is with great sadness that we have to let you know that Yuki has passed away.
Thank you to everyone who donated and offered support.
For those wanting details of what happened-
We brought Yuki to emergency on Saturday. Despite being told the surgery was urgent we were told that Yuki was in good shape and she could wait until Monday, at which point they would prioritise her procedure. She ended up having the surgery on Monday afternoon, by this point the gallbladder had ruptured (we are in the process of requesting information on why surgery was delayed for so long when it was considered urgent.
This rupture caused complications for her recovery, with bile spreading into other areas of the body, causing severe inflammation. Her initial recovery seemed positive, and Yuki remained in ICU through to Thursday on medication and pain relief. Even the night prior to her passing the update on her status seemed hopeful. Sadly she gave in on Thursday and left us. We're certain that is resting in peace, and thanks to you all we are able to know that we gave her the absolute best chance.
Total costs have ended up at $7,800 - we turned off the ability to donate as soon as we heard the news and will make up the difference.
Thank you all so much, your love and support has been so generous!

Hello friends,
I'm Adam and this is our family dog yuki. Yuki is a dog we rescued a little over 3 years ago.
She had a particularly rough start to life and was used as a bait dog as a puppy.
Her recovery with us has been incredible. She is still quite a shy dog but has become well socialised with other animals, loves walks and has become our 1 year old daughter's best friend.
She had a day or so of incontinence and vomiting and had stopped eating...even her favourite bone treat!
A quick visit to the vets resulted in some really poor blood test results. This followed by an emergency overnight stay in hospital and a Ultrasound. She is an uninsurable dog due to the not fully known nature of her first few years.
We have we mananaged the initial $2000 of costs but when the vet called to say that she requires her gallbladder to be removed to the tune of approximately $8000 (now looking more like $7,000), we have reached our capacity of spare cash. With my wife just returning to work after maternity leave and me being without salary for the last 2 months and as everyone knows the cost of living going up and up, we simply have not built our savings back up.
Honestly any help would be massively appreciated.
Our options for care are limited but the recovery rates for surgery are over 80% and as yuki is a young dog her chances are even better.
