You all know what an amazing and empathetic person Amanda is. This women offered me a place in her home a few years back and offered it free while I searched for work and could get back on my feet. At the time she had only known me a short time and I was overwhelmed by her generosity. Please help her in her time of need if you can. In December 2024, after traveling for her father-in-law’s funeral, Amanda woke up in severe pain. What followed was months of medical crisis: defective spinal implants had to be surgically removed before she could even get an MRI. That MRI showed critical spinal cord narrowing—she was close to paralysis. At the same time, Amanda was already living with stage 4 kidney disease. She needed emergency spinal fusion surgery and missed significant work. She is immunocompromised, unable to type, and managing multiple chronic conditions.
During this medical crisis, Amanda’s husband became verbally and emotionally abusive. When her kidney function dropped low enough for transplant referral, he began seeing other women and left her right after Thanksgiving. He filed for divorce three days before Christmas and moved in with his parents rent-free. Alabama is an at-fault divorce state. Abuse, neglect, and adultery matter. He wants an easy “no-fault” divorce. Amanda cannot allow that—not while she’s medically vulnerable and at risk of financial devastation. She knows the attorney she needs, but cannot afford them alone.
I am asking for urgent help to secure legal representation for Amanda, protect her future, and hold her husband accountable. If you can donate or share, please do—time truly matters here. Thank you for standing with her.
