ICU Emergency Surgery For Mason

Mason is my child, we've been together 11 years and I just can't lose him yet. We just moved to TN with so many plans for hikes in the Smokies, fun on farms, and trips to the beach. Please help us. The vet said if he's not treated, he's only got a few months left to live. If he IS treated, he could have a number of good quality years left to enjoy, as the surgery would be curative!

In January 2021, Mason collapsed on the kitchen floor shaking and unresponsive. We've had 3 ER visits in the last 2 weeks due to diabetic crisis (both high and low), collapse, kidney failure, and near fatal coma. He has seen 6+ Vets/Specialists, and spent just over 1 full week in the hospital ICU at Blue Pearl and Animalia. He’s had the full range of tests, ultrasound, Xrays, round the clock care, IV fluids and medications, and upon being released from the hospital with a huge bill, they still did not have a complete diagnosis. Frustrating! They struggled to stabilize his blood sugar for days, kidneys failing, and severe vomiting and dehyrdation. There were no signs or symptoms leading up to this emergency situation. Fine one minute, collapsed the next. All previous Vet records from Ohio that were transferred down here to TN show nothing on labs indicating a problem starting either.
They have found a large mass (the size of your fist) in his liver and a nodule (size of your first thumb knuckle) in his spleen but unfortunately, the aspirate tests show inconclusive results. They do not know what kind of masses these are, benign or malignant, and if cancer, what type or what stage it’s in. He’s too weak for anesthesia at present, so we cannot get a biopsy or do surgery yet. He was released with a glucose monitor attached to his skin, to be scanned every hour or two, and intense "sick care" routine at home until we know more.
In the meantime, we work on healing. We need to get Mason strong enough to handle more tests or possibly surgery to remove it. And since care in Western Medicine has reached it's limit in his current state, we have to go the natural route to get him there. This coming week has 2 more appts – follow-up to check labs and kidney levels, and a new holistic doc (at Animalia) to start using Eastern medicine practices - acupuncture, chiropractic, muscle testing, massage, herbs, special foods etc. I’ve also purchased special supplements, home cooking all his meals, syringe feeding things he needs, and soon we will begin IV fluids/subcutaneous fluids at home to keep him hydrated and kidneys flushed. This will have a tail on it for months to come, JUST to get him strong enough for surgery, and I need your help.
In addition to the Eastern medicine approach for healing, we will need to get a biopsy, MRI to see where and how to operate, and of course, the full surgery to remove both masses. Your donations will help with all of these expenses.
I’ve already paid all current bills, but it's the ongoing care I’m concerned about as it just gets so expensive, and I’ve already spent so much.

Don't let these pics fool you! Mason might be a poodle, but he's a true "dog's dog" who thinks he's a BIG dog lol and loves to play fetch, swim, hike, dig, and chew sticks. He is a cross between Bob Marley in a poodle coat, and a country boy on a farm. Quite the personality, he LOVES to be outside with all things dirty and playful. Our time together can't be over yet, so many adventures left to explore.
