UPDATED STORY: Hi everyone,

As many of you know, our 1-year-old cat, Pinto was in critical condition due to FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). After a hard battle, and many complications along the way, it is with our heaviest heart that we share that he has passed away. Despite the incredible efforts of the ICU team and the love sent his way, his battle with FeLV was more than his little body could handle.

We have decided to keep this fundraiser open because, although Pinto is finally at peace and no longer in pain, the reality of his extensive emergency care remains. The ICU debt from his blood transfusions and specialist stay is significant, and as a student household, it is a weight we are still carrying.

In the midst of our grief, we also received more difficult news: Pinto’s brother, Boris, has officially tested positive for FeLV as well. We are now pivoting our focus to ensuring Boris gets the preventative care and monitoring he needs to stay healthy.

Your support has been a lifeline during this time. We are so incredibly grateful for the love you’ve shown us so far—it has truly helped us navigate the hardest days of our lives. Thank you for helping us honour Pinto’s memory and for standing by us as we care for Boris.
