Hi everyone, Vince here doing another emergency fundraiser for my friend Coco. The summer was extremely difficult for Coco. I have previously run gfms to help support Coco as she has dealt with health issues, under/unemployment, and evictions. She and her family cannot catch a break. This past summer, we scrambled to fundraise to help her get into a new place to avoid being evicted and ending up on the streets with her young son. We just barely managed to get that need met, they moved successfully a few weeks ago. However, the combined stress of everything that has been going on has caused Coco's health to plummet. She is diabetic and her health has been precarious since she caught Covid a few years ago. During her recent move, she collapsed and had to be briefly hospitalized. This resulted in her unfortunately losing her job that she's been depending on as the sole income for her family. This is a devastating turn of events for her, as they are barely settled into their new place and already behind on bills. I am turning to the community once again to try to help my dear friend. She feels confident that she will be able to get another job by the end of the month but in the meantime I am running an emergency gfm for her.
As of right now, she currently has $300 to put toward October's rent. Her total rent is $1439 + a late fee of $75 and a court fee of $192, all of which needs to be paid by October 15th. I am setting the goal at 1800 in the hope that if we raise more it will give her a little breathing room (because she also has other bills and her kids) but the absolute minimum we need to raise is $1406.
Coco has been struggling for so long and her health is deteriorating from the continual financial and housing insecurity. I have come to you all so many times in the hope of supporting Coco and I am very hopeful we can do it again. These are dark and difficult times for everyone but please consider donating and please, please share this fundraiser. I want stability for my friend more than anything. Thank you all. <3
