I'm raising emergency funds for my dear friend, who needs to remain anonymous. L is a young Black artist and entrepreneur seeking help to avoid homelessness.
L is adopted, and the few family members she has have been mentally and emotionally abusive toward her for years. She lost her job due to COVID-19 and on Aug. 15, she was abruptly forced out of her family home. L has no safety net or housing alternatives.
She will use this emergency aid to pay for immediate housing at a hotel, security deposit and first month's rent on future housing, daily food and car repair.
L has been beloved friend of mine for years, and her kind, generous and creative spirit is a gift to all who know her. She's a designer, stylist and creative director who needs a safe place to live, rest and operate her business.
