Emergency Housing for Madi and Her Newborn

Hi, my name is Madi. I’m 21 years old and gave birth to my son sooner than I expected. I never imagined I would be writing something like this at such a vulnerable moment in my life, but I’m asking for help as I work to secure permanent, stable housing for my child and myself. Over the past several months, I was laid off from work due to pregnancy complications and trauma. Just days ago, I was also involved in a car accident that resulted in a closed head injury and concussion. While recovering and preparing to welcome my son, the housing I had originally secured unexpectedly fell through. Since then, I have been doing everything in my power to find a solution that provides long-term stability — not just temporary shelter. I’m incredibly grateful to share that I now have the opportunity to establish a land contract on a 3-bedroom home, which would give my son and me a safe, stable place to live and grow. At this point, I am only $2,000 away from being able to make that happen. I want to be clear and transparent: I have everything my baby needs — clothes, diapers, formula, a safe place to sleep, and a loving mother ready to care for him. The only missing piece right now is securing housing. Without a stable address, hospitals are required to notify Child Protective Services, and that could put my ability to bring my newborn home at risk — not because I am unprepared or unsafe, but simply because I lack permanent housing. That fear has been overwhelming. The funds raised will go directly toward finalizing this housing arrangement and covering essential move-in costs so my son can come home with me, where he belongs. I also plan to return to work as soon as I am medically cleared, and this support is meant to bridge the gap during recovery — not replace my responsibility to provide long-term. GoFundMe Goal: $2,000 How the remaining funds will be used: • Land contract down payment: $1,500 • Utility deposits (electric, gas, water): $300 • Initial move-in necessities & transportation: $200 Total Needed: $2,000 This isn’t about luxury. It’s about keeping a newborn safe, housed, and with his mother during the most critical moment of his life. I hate asking for help, but this is about my child, and I will do whatever I have to do to protect him. Every donation, share, or kind word truly means more than I can express. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us reach stability during this incredibly vulnerable moment. — Madi
