Hello everyone, my lovely friend Keniyah King has recently been going through a very severe episode of (CVS) Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome in which she has been throwing up uncontrollably since the Wednesday of December 30th. Keniyah is only now starting to recover slowly from the last episode of CVS, but she is still very much listless and dehydrated from frequently vomiting. To make matters worse, Keniyah must find new housing by January 21st. A very precarious situation to be in when she has not been able to raise money to move because she has been bedridden and taking care of her health, with the help of a few friends. However, none of us are medical professionals and have mainly supported Keniyah by helping her with her relaxation bathes, keeping her company and restocking her electrolyte drinks. In fact, Keniyah called the ambulance as soon as she felt herself become dangerously weak and dehydrated but was told her vital organs were fine and was not taken to the hospital. A conspicuous example of medical racism that neglects the health of Black Women, and especially right now in the times of Covid when hospitals are already at capacity. As a Black girl with a disability, who was formerly homeless it is imperative that we not let Keniyah be displaced to the streets in a very crucial time in which she must prioritize her health and wellness.
Keniyah is one of the kindest and most affirming souls that I have had the blessing to come across. She strongly supports all those around her and shares her light with everyone she meets. Even with all her struggles and obstacles as a Queer Black Woman with Disabilities that was formerly homeless, she continues to love life very much. What she desires most right now is to be healthy. To be safe. And to be housed. Please help us in fulfilling Keniyah's wishes that are essentially basic human necessities.
Keniyah's Goal is of $5,0000
$3,000 - Three Months of Rent/Housing/Utilities (prior to her latest CVS episode, Keniyah was actively looking for employment, but given how severe her health has depleted and how uncertain job opportunities are in this moment, we want to make sure that Keniyah has funds secured for at least three months of rent and utilities.
$1000 - Medical Resources
$500 - New Mattress
$250 - Transportation (Lyfts in between groceries, hospital visits)
$250- Food and Groceries
Please share and donate
