Evan is the kind of person who makes everyone laugh without trying. He’s a loving, hilarious soul who pours his heart into writing and publishing books, planning trips, and discovering new breweries with the people he loves. Life was full and moving forward—until it suddenly wasn’t.
On Friday, February 6th, our lives were turned upside down without any warning. My husband suddenly passed out for nearly an hour, something that had never happened before and completely caught us by surprise. What we thought would be a quick ER visit quickly became something much more serious.
After arriving at the emergency room, he was immediately admitted and then transferred by ambulance for specialized care. We are now on day three of his hospital stay as doctors work to manage an extremely low heart rate. After many tests and long, emotional conversations, we’ve learned that he will need a pacemaker, which is currently scheduled for Monday, February 9th.
This has been an overwhelming and frightening experience for our entire family. Beyond the emotional toll, we are now facing unexpected medical bills, time away from work, and ongoing expenses related to his care and recovery. None of this was something we had time to prepare for.
We are sharing our story not because it’s easy, but because we could truly use the support. Any donation—no matter the size—will help ease the financial burden so we can focus on what matters most right now: his health, healing, and getting our family through this together.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story or keeping us in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
