Emergency hospital stay for Shiva

Hi, I'm Gina. My dog Shiva is currently in the emergency hospital in critical care for dehydration, kidney disease and diabetes.

If you know me, you know how much she means to me. I've had her since she fit into the palm of my hand. She is my best friend. She is my child.

I am attaching images of the break down of cost for her hospitalization.

UPDATE:

After being hospitalized since Wednesday, Shiva was released yesterday afternoon (Sunday). Because she was not in diabetic ketoacidosis, her care was made less complicated and it lowered the cost a bit so I changed the fundraising goal to reflect that.

She is doing well and stable enough to be home. We got her first insulin prescription filled yesterday and gave her the shot for our first time. Shiva is now on a prescription diet to help control her diabetes.

Shiva's kidneys are stable but damaged. We will be administering bagged fluids until at least Friday when we see her primary vet and get more long term instructions from him.

I am eternally grateful for all of the support we have received and will add a more detailed update later this week after we've seen her primary vet.
