Emergency! Help Us Get Luna Back On Her Paws

Luna isn’t just a pet — she’s family. She’s our 5-year-old queen, a quiet and steady presence who’s ruled our home. She loves her Temptations treats, demands the coldest, freshest water, and loves summer days where she can stretch out on the table where the sun hits her belly just right, soaking in the warmth. She’s not too much of a lap cat, but she always wants to be in the room where it happens and part of the action.

We got Luna at the height of COVID, during one of the hardest times of my life. My late-husband had just passed away, and one of his final wishes was for me to finally get a cat of my own — now that my daughter had moved out. Luna was that cat. She became my girl, my rock in my grief. Her soft meows were often the only voice that greeted me when I came home. She brought comfort, routine, and always made me feel better with her purrs or made me laugh with her silly antics.

Even now, remarried and rebuilding, Luna remains a cornerstone of our little household of two. But with the rising cost of everything, we’re facing a sudden emergency we simply can’t afford alone.

In the past few days, Luna suddenly stopped eating, stopped drinking, and began vomiting different substances. We rushed her to the vet, and they’ve told us that without further diagnostics — an X-ray, bloodwork, an ultrasound, and possibly surgery — the outcome could be fatal. If we can’t provide these treatments, we may be forced to give her up for care we can’t afford… something that would break our hearts.

We don’t want to lose Luna. She’s more than a cat. She’s a companion. She's our girl.
