Hello, my name is Monika Feuereisen. I am a psychotherapist and mother of two, based in the south of Germany.

I have been in close contact with Abd, his wife Reham and their three children throughout the horrific destruction of Gaza. They live in Jabalyia- arial views of the city now remind me of Hiroshima.

Abd ( -Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Najjar, date of birth 8.04. 1990) and his wife Reham have been working tirelessly to support poor families around them with their own funds as well as some donations that Abd has managed to collect from people through social media. They are not affiliated with any organisation.

He has been distributing food, shoes and blankets, he has organised a water truck, he has stood tirelessly in hour- long queues for bottles of gas to give them to the elderly who cannot queue themselves. Malnourished himself he went to the hospital to donate blood as soon as he heard about the possibility. He has been a light of kindness in the midst of so much devastation and I deeply feel we can only learn from him what shared humanity means. For Ramadan he asked me for some support. I hope you support me to support him. Abd writes:

"Today is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. I wish everyone peace and blessings. I want to collect donations for the families who fast in Ramadan in Gaza who are enduring a very cold winter with no shelter, no food or drink. May God keep them warm and safe as humanity has failed them. "
