Hi, my name is Anthony Cooke, and I’m raising funds on behalf of Ziamora Miller.
Ziamora is a hard-working entrepreneur who runs her own crochet business and also helps her aunt operate a small riverfront tourist attraction. She is known in her community for her creativity, kindness, and dedication to building a better life for herself and her family.
Today, she urgently needs our help.
What Happened
Ziamora is a survivor of Hurricane Melissa, the devastating Category 5 storm that made a direct hit on western/central Jamaica—one of the strongest hurricanes ever to strike the island. When the storm’s eyewall passed over her community, a mango tree crashed onto her home, causing the house to collapse on top of her.
She was pinned under the rubble with a fractured ankle, unable to move as floodwaters began to rise around her. With incredible courage, she dragged herself from her bed to her dresser—just high enough to avoid the rising water—and held on until the flood finally receded. Somehow, she survived.
But the aftermath is heartbreaking.
Her Current Situation
Ziamora’s home is completely destroyed and surrounded by water. She has no shelter, no food, no clean water, and no safe place to stay. She is currently sleeping on a distant neighbor’s veranda while coping with the pain of her injury.
How Your Support Will Help
All funds raised will go directly toward:
Medical care for her fractured ankle
Emergency relief items such as food, clean water, clothing, and basic necessities
A safe living environment, including repairs or rebuilding her home
Support for restarting her small crochet business and riverfront work once she recovers
Ziamora has lost everything—but she hasn’t lost hope. With your support, she can begin to rebuild her life, her home, and her livelihood.
If you are able, please donate and share this campaign. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference.
Thank you for helping Ziamora get back on her feet.
