On the morning of August 1st, my parents, Lawrence and Connie Moore, tragically lost their home to a devastating fire in Rockland, Ontario.

Thankfully, they are safe, but they walked away with absolutely nothing besides some charred photos we miraculously salvaged.

While they do have home insurance, it will take weeks for the claims to process and for emergency funds to become available. Right now, they are in a state of shock and need immediate assistance to cover the basics: emergency lodging, food, clothing, toiletries, insurance deductibles and funds will be dispersed as needed.

I rushed home to my parents from Halifax, NS immediately to help manage this crisis for them so they can focus on processing this shock. Because of this, a small portion of these funds will also cover my emergency flight and rental car expenses.
