Help Us Find a Safe Place to Call Home

Hi, my name is Mandi, and I’m a hardworking mom of two young kids and two sweet cats. Since 2017, we’ve lived at Aspen Place Apartments — not because it’s been ideal, but because it’s what we could afford. Over the years, we’ve dealt with so many issues, but the past four years have been the hardest.

We've had major problems with both water and electricity. There were weeks where we had no running water at all, and many more where we had barely enough pressure to clean dishes or take a decent shower. We’ve tried to move in the past, but with rising costs and limited income, we couldn’t find anything cheaper.

Then, on May 6th, 2025, everything came crashing down.

After getting off work at 5 a.m., I came home hoping to rest — only to wake up to no water again and a big orange notice taped to our door. The apartment was officially declared unsafe to live in, and we were given just 48 hours to vacate. No warning. No support. Just the overwhelming fear of suddenly being homeless. Thankfully, the community has come together to help each other.

Now we are left with nowhere to go.

I’m doing everything I can to keep my family safe and together, but we need help. We are urgently looking for support to help with:

A security deposit or first month’s rent

Or a down payment toward a safer place to live
