In one night, I lost one daughter and nearly lost another.
My name is Sarah. I am a single mother to three beautiful teenage daughters.
On January 2, 2026 at 9:55 PM, our lives were shattered on the I-95 South exit ramp at Hobe Sound Bridge Road in Martin County. The crash took the lives of 17-year-old driver Matt Mosby and my 16-year-old daughter, Millie Marquez.
My 13-year-old daughter, Olivia Grace, was also a passenger. She was given less than a 1% chance of survival. She was rushed into emergency surgery at St. Mary’s Trauma Center for a lacerated liver, multiple breaks, then airlifted to Delray Medical Center for life-saving surgery on a torn aorta near her heart.
She survived. But survival is only the beginning.
Olivia now requires ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, specialist appointments, transportation, and constant supervision. I am her full-time caregiver. I cannot leave her side without having two stand in carers to help. Our income has been disrupted I've not been able to work. Hospital bills, therapy, home adjustments, travel, and basic living expenses are piling up faster than we can manage.
We are struggling to maintain housing stability. We are struggling to cover utilities, food, and the basic needs required for Olivia’s recovery. The financial pressure is crushing, and the trauma does not stop.
We are reliving this nightmare every day with no answers, no closure, and no safety net.
We are asking for urgent financial support to help us survive this aftermath — to keep a roof over our heads, to continue Olivia’s recovery, and to prevent this tragedy from destroying what remains of our family.
