Emergency Help for Twin Babies
Donation protected
Vanessa, 24 weeks pregnant with twins was taken Sunday June 11th to Providence Hospital (Anchorage) via ambulance and underwent a procedure to remove 2.7 liters of amniotic fluid from BABY A, as BABY A was fighting for her life. BABY A’s heart had a lack of blood supply and BABY B was anemic due to lack of nutrients. At this time Vanessa was a stage 3 out of 5 (5 being the most critical) with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome or TTTS is an imbalance in blood flow due to placental vessel connections. One twin (called the “donor” twin) gives too much blood to the “recipient” twin.
Within a few hours, on Monday June 12th Vanessa was medavaced to Seattle and was a stage 4 with TTTS. After her arrival to Seattle in which she was placed in a hotel to be near the hospital and for one week, she had to undergo a life saving surgery for BABY A & BABY B. The surgery was a Laser Placental Ablasion so that the babies do not have to share the same blood supply and can thrive.
With the unforeseen circumstances Vanessa is on modified bedrest which could change at any moment to complete bedrest. BABY A & BABY B are slowly improving after the surgery.
Dean & Vanessa a family of five going on seven with the twins, need our full support at this time during this unforeseen emergency. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. The money will go to medical bills, co pays, deductibles and any expenses insurance does not cover in addition to some financial support for bed rest.
