Emergency Help for the Hackett Family
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Maddie, the former owner of Bona Fide in Concord, NH.
My dear friends Amanda and Mandy Hackett, the current co-owners of Bona Fide, were set to move into their 1971 Bluebird Wander Lodge bus on Saturday 1/15 with their two and a half year old daughter Greenly, when it tragically caught fire Wednesday night. Amanda was the only one in the bus at the time and she is safe.
However, the Hacketts have sold everything and poured the last year and their life savings into making this bus a home. I've had the unique privilege of watching them plan, dream and work their butts off to build a safe place to live. It has been beautiful to witness the intentionality with which they've chosen each element of their bus home in order to live in alignment with their core values. Anyone who knows the Hacketts, and who knows Bona Fide, knows that this bus was more than just a place to live. It was an extension of their commitment to live small, and to further embrace the eco-conscious lifestyle that Bona Fide promotes.
We all know that Amanda and Mandy have given so much to the community and now is the time for us to step up for them. Please consider supporting the Hackett family as they work to make sense of this tragedy and figure out their future plans.
As many of you know, Amanda and Mandy have been very transparent about their process of converting this bus into a home, and they plan to continue to inform the community about their next moves. I ask that everyone respect their privacy over the next couple of days as they process the loss of their home.
