Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

My dog Teddy is 13 years old and he is truly my best friend. He has been with me through some of the darkest periods of my life and has been my constant source of comfort, stability, and unconditional love.

Over the last day, Teddy has become weak and unsteady on his feet. He has also been vomiting and struggling to eat. Teddy is diabetic, which makes this situation especially dangerous. When a diabetic dog cannot keep food down or maintain normal intake, their blood sugar can become unstable very quickly and turn life-threatening without proper monitoring and treatment.

I rushed him to the emergency vet, where I was given an impossible choice: either continue limited outpatient care and monitoring, or pursue further diagnostics and hospitalization that I simply could not afford, otherwise euthanasia would be the only remaining option, not because he’s ready, but because of money.

Despite everything, Teddy is still responsive, alert, and trying. He’s eating very small amounts, using his doggy stairs, and doing his best to be okay. The vets believe additional diagnostics, blood sugar monitoring, and supportive care could help determine what’s happening and give him a real chance, but I need help to get there.

I never imagined asking for help like this, but I refuse to give up on him without trying everything I can.
