Emergency Help for Tank, Senior Therapy Dog
I've never done a Go-Fund-me before, but I have to. Tank is a 13.5-year-old dachshund who has spent the past decade as a therapy dog, comforting elderly and disabled patients with his gentle presence. For ten years, Tank has brought smiles and peace to those who needed it most, often sitting quietly with clients and offering the kind of companionship only a devoted dog can provide. His work has touched many lives, and I have included photos of him with patients to show the impact he’s had.
Recently, Tank’s health has declined rapidly. He is suffering from advanced age-related issues, including dangerously high pancreas, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels. Now, he urgently needs humane care through euthanasia at Northwoods Veterinary Hospital, where he can be seen the same day. As a disabled caregiver recovering from multiple surgeries, I am unable to afford this emergency on my own. Your support will help Tank receive the dignified, compassionate care he deserves in his final moments.
Any additional funds will go toward my other senior therapy dog, Gaige, who also needs veterinary attention for elevated liver enzymes, severe dental issues, and a permanent limp from a past injury. While Gaige’s needs are less urgent, she too has spent years comforting those in need. Including a photo of Gaige with a client will help show her impact as well. Tank has given so much love to others—now he needs our help. Please consider donating to help Tank find peace and to support Gaige’s ongoing care. Thank you for any help with this heartbreaking situation.
