Emergency Help for Kuri – Please Help me Help Him
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Steph, and I’m reaching out to ask for help for someone who means the absolute world to me - my beloved dog, Kuri.
Kuri isn’t “just a pet.” He is our emotional support dog, and he’s a true lifeline for me and my 4-year-old niece, Poppy.
He’s been with us through so many hard days, always steady, calm, and loving. For little Poppy, Kuri is not only her best friend, but also our comfort when the world feels big or scary. He curls up beside us during meltdowns, sits close when we’re anxious, and makes us laugh when nothing else can. He’s more than a dog — he’s a member of our family, and a real-life hero.
What Happened to Kuri?
Kuri recently became seriously ill. I rushed him to the vet, where I received the heartbreaking news: Kuri has sepsis, a severe and life-threatening infection in his bloodstream. This condition can progress rapidly and is incredibly dangerous without immediate, intensive treatment.
Kuri is currently hospitalised, receiving emergency care including IV fluids, antibiotics, and 24/7 monitoring. The veterinary teams at his regular vet and the Animal Referral Hospital have been amazing and are all doing everything they can to save his life.
Why I’m Asking for Help
This isn’t something I’d normally do, but Kuri’s treatment is vital, and the emergency vet bills are quickly climbing to an estimated $5000. I’ve already spent everything I can (plus more), and now I’m humbly asking for help from friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers.
Every single donation - no matter the amount - will go directly toward Kuri’s medical care. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would still make a huge difference.
Why Kuri Matters So Much
Kuri is more than a dog - he is family. He’s been by our side through thick and thin. As a support dog, he brings calm to our chaos, grounding us through mental health struggles and emotional storms. He’s always there when we need him, and now he needs us.
Kuri is still fighting, and we believe he has so much life left to live, and so much love left to give and many more tail wags left in him.
Please help us fight for Kuri. He’s strong, he’s brave, and with your help - we believe he can make it.
From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you.
