Emergency Heart Surgery Fund for Bill and His Kids

Hello everyone, my name is Richard Lam, and today I am reaching out on behalf of one of my closest friends, William “Bill” Snyder.

If you know Bill, you know how much he hates asking for help. He’s the kind of man who carries his burdens quietly and always puts others first. But right now, he’s facing a battle that no one should have to fight alone.

A few months ago, Bill began experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. After seeking medical help, his doctor scheduled a stent procedure for August 28th, 2025. That procedure alone would have cost him $15,000 out-of-pocket — because his insurance refused to cover it. But on the day of the procedure, everything changed.

The doctor pulled me aside and told me the words no friend ever wants to hear: “This is the worst-case scenario.” Bill wasn’t allowed to go home. If he had a heart attack, it could have been fatal. Two of his arteries were 95% blocked, and another was 97% blocked. The very next day, Bill was rushed to St. David’s in Round Rock for emergency triple bypass surgery. After six long hours on the operating table, he was moved to the ICU, where he is now recovering.

Bill’s road to healing won’t be easy. On top of the physical recovery, he’s facing a mountain of medical bills that could reach $100,000. For a single father of two daughters and one son, this burden is crushing.

And yet, through all of this, Bill has never stopped being the dad his kids need. In the past two years, he’s had his car stolen, he’s fought tirelessly in a custody battle (which should finally be resolved in October, giving him full custody), and now he’s facing this life-or-death health crisis. Despite it all, he still finds ways to be there for his kids — even teaching himself video games at 51 years old, just so he could spend more time with them when they’re at their mom’s.

Bill would never ask for help himself. That’s why I’m asking for him. He shouldn’t have to carry this weight alone, and he definitely shouldn’t have to choose between his health, his kids, and financial survival.

If you can donate, no matter how big or small, it will make a difference in helping Bill get back on his feet without being buried in medical debt. If you can’t contribute financially, we ask that you please keep Bill and his children in your prayers — for healing, for strength, and for peace of mind.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping a father who has given everything for his kids.
