Emergency Heart Surgery for My Mum – Please Help
Donation protected
This is my incredible mum, Andrea. My best friend, my only parent, and the most loving, supportive, and creative person I know.
She has recently been diagnosed with severe tricuspid regurgitation, a heart condition where one of her valves doesn’t close properly, causing blood to flow backward instead of in the right direction. As a result, she’s been experiencing debilitating symptoms like shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest pain. On top of that, her anxiety has skyrocketed, and it’s become impossible for her to live life the way she used to. She can’t perform music or travel as much anymore, two things she loves, and she’s struggling to do everyday tasks.
We’ve been in constant contact with the NHS and private doctors, but the wait for open-heart surgery is simply too risky. The longer she waits, the more damage is done to her heart. So, we’ve decided to move forward with a private doctor who has helped guide us through the safest options available.
The full cost of the surgery is £40,000, but we’re aiming to raise £24,000 for the initial upfront payment, and we’ll work on securing the rest through other means. Unfortunately, we don’t have the savings or extended family who can help financially, so we’re turning to you, our friends, and even strangers, for support. The surgery has been rushed to Tuesday so we're hoping with your help, we can meet our goal within the next month and get her the life-saving surgery she urgently needs.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. We’re incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, and we’re hoping for a miracle to make this happen.
My mum is an incredibly independent person and has always made what she needs for us to get by. She’s always been generous with her time, love, and resources to help others, which makes this request even harder for us. But we’ve reached a point where we need help, and we are truly grateful for any assistance you can provide.
Thank you so much to anyone who takes time out of their day to read this.
