Hi, my name is Charmaine and I’m fundraising on behalf of my amazing dad.
My dad is fighting for his life in the ICU at Medical City Clark in the Philippines, and I’m desperately asking for help.
He’s 67 years old, a British national who was spending time with my mum’s family in the Philippines when he suddenly became unwell. About 2-3 weeks ago, he had pneumonia, which led to a heart attack, and now his heart is severely weakened. He’s developed dangerous heart arrhythmias and the fluid buildup has continued.
Yesterday he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit. The doctor said his heart is very weak and he needs an implantable defibrillator to have any chance of survival.
The problem is that Dad doesn’t have medical insurance in the Philippines. The last three days have already cost £3,000. Now that he’s in ICU, we’re facing around £600-900 every single day, and the defibrillator surgery he needs could be anywhere from £8,000-15,000. We’re looking at over £20,000 in total.
He’s too weak to be transported back to the UK. He needs this treatment now, in the Philippines, or he may not survive.
My dad is a loving father and husband who has always been there for our family. He is usually so healthy and full of life, and it’s heartbreaking to see him go from being a healthy and happy man to this in such a short space of time.
Every pound helps. Whether you can donate £5 or £500, it all brings us closer to giving him the chance to fight for his life.
Please share this with anyone who might be able to help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️
