Emergency funds to help Jay after caravan fire

Hi there, I am creating this go fund me on behalf of my mother, Jay, who had her caravan catch fire while on the road travelling past Townsville in QLD yesterday.

Mum and her dog Muffin have been travelling and living in this caravan for the last 18 months since she lost her partner, and my stepdad, Wayne to cancer in October of 2019. Mum and Muffin were safe but her caravan, which she worked on and made feel truly like a tiny home on wheels is completely gone. She has lost all of her possessions, including clothes, sewing machine, knitting needles and wool (mum knits children’s toys and clothes for charity and tiny baby clothes for preemie babies), all of her ergonomic furniture and other things to help with her ongoing and often debilitating back issues, and of course all of her irreplaceable personal items and pieces collected over time that have only sentimental value.

Mum has insurance and has stated that it’s ‘only things’ and she is lucky to be safe. But she is so far away and my sister and I hope to raise some funds to help her while she waits for claims to be processed.

Mum has been through a lot even before this accident, and I hope we can help her out, as she has always been an example to me as a person who is truly kind and charitable to others.

I know things are tough for a lot of people at the moment but anything you can give will help so much.
