On 8/6/26, Mallory, Evie (5), and Reggie (1) were playing in a hotel pool in Canada while on their way to their new home and Jackson's new job in Kenai, Alaska. Mallory, who has had no history of seizures or any significant medical concerns, had a seizure while holding both children in the shallow end of the pool. They all went under water, according to hotel surveillance: Evie for 4 minutes, and Reggie and Mallory for 3 minutes. Thanks to the quick action of bystanders and EMTs, they were pulled from the water and CPR and rescue breathing were performed. Mallory and Evie both had to be resuscitated. They were then rushed to the hospital for critical care. Mallory was airlifted to a larger hospital in Alberta, and the children were sent by ambulance. Mallory is in the ICU, still unconscious and on a ventilator. Both children are being watched closely because they had water in their lungs, and the family still does not know whether Mallory and Evie will have brain damage.
Because they are US citizens receiving emergency medical care in Canada, the medical costs will likely exceed $100,000. Jackson is fresh out of school, and neither he nor Mallory have an income yet. Their family desperately needs time for Mallory and the children to heal without the crushing stress of financial ruin. If you can spare even a few dollars and share this fundraiser with others, their loved ones would be deeply grateful. From all of us who love them, thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers in this terrifying and uncertain time. Your help means everything.
