Emergency Funds for The Potter’s

Last week Jenni flew to Washington for her daughter Mariah’s baby shower.  She starting feeling sick to her stomach midway through her flight and Jenni thought it may have just been  due to the turbulence, but her symptoms continued Thursday night and into Friday.  She arrived in Port Townsend Friday afternoon and was very weak.  She just wanted to rest and had horrible pain in her stomach and back.  After a couple hours of trying to rest, she agreed she needed medical attention.  We called the aid car and they transported her to the hospital.  We received an update a few hours later, that she needed emergency surgery for an incarcerated hernia that had caused a bowel obstruction.  Surgery went well but Jenni was still very sick.  Her condition was stable but guarded. Jenni had some major setbacks on Saturday, and it was decided that she needed to be transferred to the UW Hospital in Seattle early Sunday morning.  

Jenni has made some progress since being in Seattle, but the source of her infection is still unknown, and the doctors are doing test after test to figure out all the details and fix multiple problems.

Brian flew up Sunday to be close by even though Covid regulations won’t allow him to go into the hospital to see Jenni.  Their son,Josiah, who had come with Jenni for the baby shower, flew back to Texas to be home and help their friends with the three younger kids. Brian is the only source of income for the family and he recently changed jobs so they currently do not have medical insurance.  We don’t know what the future holds, but we know that Brian and the family need support now more than ever.  So many people have been praying and offering help, and we appreciate every one of you and your prayers.  We are standing in faith that Jenni will make a full recovery, but we know this will be a huge financial impact and there is a long road ahead for them.  If you are able to donate anything it will help.  Any donations will be used by Brian to go towards Jenni’s medical expenses and to help cover any transportation costs or lodging costs for him and possibly the kids if that time comes that they need to travel to Washington as well.  If you are not able to support financially, sharing this link is just as important.
