Emergency funds for the Burns family
On Dec 30th, my younger brother, Brett Burns, was involved in a horrific accident. He was performing yard work alongside a major road and hit by a large speeding truck. He was flown 15 yards from the scene. He was life-flighted to a Shock Trauma hospital at the Univ of MD that evening. When he arrived, they were able to stabilize his vitals. However, he is fighting for his life. He is in very critical condition at this point. The incident left him with possible brain damage, internal bleeding, a brain bleed, an injured lung and heart, broken ribs, leg, arm and nose.
UPDATE ON BRETT: Brett has been in the Shock Trauma Unit for 3 weeks now. He went in as the most severe patient in this unit. He has made a lot of progress, however, there is still a long road ahead of him. He was weaned off of the ventilator, and a tracheotomy was performed to help him breathe on his own. He is in a non-induced coma now. His brain scans show activity, but we do not know the brain damage as of yet until he wakes up. This could be weeks or months. We are still praying that God brings him out of the coma and restores him.
Please continue to help Brett with funds for medical care (until we go to court over the case), help with his rent and bills since he can not function, and help for the family to continue to visit him at the hospital.
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
