Emergency Funds for Rocky

Our sweet 7-year-old German Shepherd Rocky is very sick and in pain - with what, we’re not sure yet. I’m trying to gather some funds to take him to the vet for the second time in 2 days, not knowing exactly what kind of procedures we need to get done this time, but at least I’d like to be able to more clearly say what we can afford and what we will have to avoid.

Rocky is the absolute light of our lives, and to see him rapidly decline so badly is breaking our hearts in a million pieces, more than I ever thought it could. Our main goal is to have Rocky pain-free, hopefully with some treatment, but ultimately with whatever hard decisions it may come with. Any donations no matter how small are so highly appreciated, right now every cent counts. If you can’t donate, my humble ask is that you’ll continue to pray and send healing thoughts towards Rocky - ask for God not to call him home yet, so we could keep our little one with us just a bit longer.

Medical background since four days ago:

• Lethargic, mostly lays down looking uncomfortable

• No appetite whatsoever, will eat certain things fed by hand but very little (egg yolks, sardines, nutterbutters, baby yogurt), just does NOT want to eat

• Black poop

• Pale gums

• Wobbles on bare floors, weak overall

• Swollen lymph nodes in neck and back of thighs

Went to the vet two days ago, had a cytology done from all four lymph nodes and bloodwork, still waiting on results. Got prescribed Prednisone steroids and Doxycycline Hyclate antibiotics. Has taken four doses in 42 hours, and seems to be doing even worse - panting and drinking a lot, which could be a side effect of the steroid, but also appears in pain. This morning, had an extremely hard time climbing a small set of stairs to his bathroom, did not want to do it and appeared in pain and distress doing so. I will call the vet in an hour as they open.
