Hi everyone, I started this fundraiser because my bird, a joyful and once energetic budgie is fighting for his life.

​Everything changed last Sunday when he suddenly became lethargic. Because of the Bank Holiday, I had to wait until Tuesday to get him to a vet.

After an X-ray and crop swab, the news was devastating. The swab came clear but the xray identified that he has metal poisoning (metal flake in his ventriculus/gizzard).

He has been through so much in just a few days. He spent the first three days vomiting constantly and has rapidly lost weight. He’s gone from being the loudest, happiest bird in the house to being so weak he can barely stay awake.

​I have already spent a significant amount on his initial X-rays, swabs, and emergency treatment, but he is not ready to give up.

He is currently being hand-fed Intensive Care formula (Emeraid) for recovery since he isnt eating properly.

Why I Need Your Help:

I recently took him to an emergency clinic because his condition worsened, but as an exotic pet, his tests are incredibly expensive. The vets want to run further tests to check for secondary infections which are common with metal poisoning but I have hit my financial limit.

​I am doing everything I can at home, including specialized feedings every few hours, but he needs professional medical intervention to survive the next few days.

I have always been a responsible owner and have made it a priority to set money aside every single month into a savings fund for my budgies' vet bills. I wanted to be prepared for anything, but I never could have expected an emergency this severe. Between the specialist X-rays, the emergency consultations over the bank holiday, and the intensive treatments, my entire savings have been completely exhausted. I’ve given him everything I have, but he still needs more help to get through this.

I have set the target based on the estimates provided for the next stage of his critical care. I want to be completely open about how this support will be used

​Where the funds will go:

• ​Advanced blood work to check for infection.

• ​Follow-up X-rays to see if the metal has passed.

• ​Continued specialized medications and supportive care.

​To some, he might just be a bird, but to me, he is a living, breathing soul. He has a life, he feels emotion, and he feels pain just like we do. He has spent his life bringing noise and happiness to my home, and he doesn't deserve to suffer like this Seeing him this quiet breaks our heart. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward his vet bills and giving him a fighting chance to be his happy, loud self again.
