Our dear friend Ms. Jones has returned home from prison after 23 years inside. We have been working with Ms. Jones through the Parole Preparation Project and are urgently asking you to donate to ensure her safety and wellbeing. Ms. Jones is in desperate need of funds to pay for her housing. She has been released for four months, unbeknownst to her, her son has been taking money out of a joint bank account they shared. This included all of her social security payments and stimulus payment. These were crucial resources, and were her only form of savings. We have been able to secure a room for Ms. Jones to stay, but she is in desperate need for any type of funds to cover her rental costs which she is behind on.

We have come to know Ms. Jones as a kind, sweet woman. She admires all creatures of the world, with a special love of plants. Going on walks in parks to admire the trees, flowers, the buzzing bees and butterflies is one of her very favorite things to do. We are incredibly admirable of her resilient attitude towards life. At 73 years of age, Ms. Jones suffers from a myriad of health issues including PTSD from horrific abuse that she suffered throughout childhood. During her lengthy incarceration, the majority of her family and friends passed away, leaving her with no support system. Ms. Jones instead must rely on public assistance and social services which is always an uphill battle in New York City especially for formerly incarcerated people.

We would like for Ms. Jones to be able to keep her housing so she can safely and comfortably adjust to life on the outside. At the moment this primarily means enough money to assist her in rent, but extra money will go towards new clothes for the winter, medical costs, furnishings, and any other anticipated expenses. Our wish is to provide her with a financial buffer so she can begin to build a life for herself. Every cent will go directly to Ms. Jones.
