GOFUNDME FOR JIMMY YEOMANS
On September 5, 2021, Jimmy Yeomans was in a residential area when he was struck by car driven by a young woman who fell asleep at the wheel, striking him while standing beside his own vehicle.
The force of the impact threw his body onto the hood of his parked vehicle where his head smashed thru the glass before being throw approx. 15 feet in the air landing in the road.
A good Samaritan who had been traveling directly behind the vehicle that struck him wrapped his head wound in his own shirt to stop the severe bleeding and stayed with him until emergency medical staff were on scene along with his mother who witnessed the horrific accident.
He was then flown by life flight to a Pittsburgh hospital and admitted to ICU with severe injuries.
He has 12 staples in his head, a chipped disc in his back, a broken hip socket, and broken leg on the same side along with multiple bruises and contusions.
They have completed the 1st of many surgeries to come including installing a temporary bone fixator bar in his leg from his thigh to his shin.
Jimmy is employed as a tri axle truck driver for a local paving company and is the sole bread winner for his household where he also supports his partner who is physically disabled herself after suffering an attack by 3 dogs that left her with long term injuries. He will not be able to return to work for quite some time.
Unfortunately he is not eligible for any type of short or long term disability and the road to recovery will be an extensive process requiring additional surgery(s) and continued therapy plus any long term effects are truly unknown at this point.
As friends, family, and community we are heart sick by this news and our goal is to alleviate the financial burden for medical costs, time off work without pay during recovery, and the loss of their only vehicle.
We are reaching out to anyone willing to help donate. All funds will go directly to support him and his family at this time. Any dollar amount, big or small, will assist in helping keep a roof over their heads and food on the table while he recovers and is able to work again.
Anyone who knows Jimmy will say what an amazing human being he is. He is as genuine as they come, hardworking, and a good hearted soul. He’s always got a smile & a kind word for everyone.
Jimmy is also a very talented musician, playing guitar and singing in many bands over the years, currently with the popular local country band HayDay.
He and his band mates are always willing to play for charities or benefits to give back so we are hoping we can help return the favor to him in his hour of need.
Please keep Jimmy in your prayers as he undergoes surgeries and the transition into recovery.
A benefit is in the planning stages and more information will be posted once finalized.
