The Chiminisiguan school in Gautemala is in a dangerous situation where collapse into the ravine is a high probability during this school year . Work is schedule for February, 2026 before the rainy season which is May - September .

There is currently 128 students there plus 7 teachers. A project definition / cost estimate have been preparted showing contributions form the municipality / community / local in country non profit (Corazones Y Manos) and Rotary clubs & donations. The Municipality has pledged $23,137 CAD for equipment / skilled labor , and Community $5,935 CAD with unqualified labor.

An engineer has been involved and will work with the municipality, community and local Rotary club to ensure compliance to the plans & estimates. We have commitments from several Rotary clubs ($10,000) and several other clubs are reviewing it. Private donation of $5,000 for a total of $15,000 CAD. Total cost of materials we need to raise is $41,000, so current shortfall is $27,000 CAD.

Money will be sent to Lake Atitlan Rotary Club in Guatemala to administer these funds along with the Rotary Club money. If this project is not funded sufficiently - Go Fund Mefunds will be directed to Corazones Y Manos projects that the local charity is working on.
