Donations for Fire Victims
During the morning of December 20, 2017, residents of the Vancouver Native Housing Society were evacuated due to a building fire at one of our buildings in East Vancouver.
The Society will be accepting monetary donations in support of displaced fire evacuees to assist with emergency costs for temporary shelter, clothing, food, Christmas presents, toiletries and baby supplies.
Monetary donations will be disbursed to tenants based on personal and family needs.
Thank you for all of your generous donations. If you wish to continue donating physical items we will only be accepting NEW and UNUSED items for our tenants. As we have recieved an overwhelming amount of clothing we will not be accepting clothing donations at this time.
Physical donations can be dropped off anytime at our Kwayatsut building:

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week
Tenants affected by the fire can contact the Main Office or their Property Manager to let us know of their needs, in terms of donations and support.
Any contributions made above $25.00 will be issued a charitable tax receipt in the mail with the request of the donator.
If you are requesting a charitable tax reciept, please email [email redacted] with your Full name, Full mailing address and a screenshot of either the email confirmation you recieved for making the donation or another form of verification of donation so we can confirm your identity/donation.
As our priority is ensuring our tenants are safe and have everything they need, we will not be able to issue tax receipts until the new year. We thank you for your patience.
