Like many Palestinians besieged in Gaza, Besan Mahmoud and her three children (aged 3, 5 and 7) have been displaced many times over the past two years. Her family home has been completely destroyed. (see photo). Their neighbours were killed in an airstrike this past week, and two days ago they received flyers telling them they had to evacuate again. Besan reported today (14 September) that 'many neighbours were killed in front of our eyes' after being unable to evacuate. They are the only family left in the area, and are without the means to evacuate. Tents alone cost more than £500, and above this they will need transportation and food, etc.
This is an emergency appeal for humanitarian aid for Besan and her children, undertaken by the solidarity movement in Belfast, run in cooperation with her relatives here.
We appeal to all of those involved in solidarity work here to give generously so the we can help move Besan and her family as soon as possible.
