Hi family, friends, and associates. I have created this GoFundMe account to assist in providing monetary support for Cortney Elahi.

Cortney is a 20-year-old young man that my family and I have known for +15 years. He was involved in a car accident on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, and is fighting to recover from the trauma sustained in the accident.

In the accident, Cortney sustained significant damage to his throat area along with a broken ankle and superficial facial injuries. Specifically, his esophagus, tracheae, and carotid artery are swollen - the main focus is on the swelling to decrease so that the medical professionals are able to remove the ventilator and monitor his self-healing.

Prior to the accident, Cortney was a vibrant young man, full of energy, love, and a beautiful smile whenever he greeted you. He has not had a loss of that energy even while being ventilated in the ICU.

Cortney is an independent young adult who works three jobs, lives on his own, and is responsible for his own bills and expenses. Given his inability to work, at the moment, he is in need of financial assistance in order to focus on his healing and recovery. He continues to ask for paper to share his thoughts with his mother - he should not be focusing on his financial health, at this time.

As of Monday, September 5th, Cortney has a traech in place along with an NG tube, and chest tube - as his left lung collapsed post surgery. We anticipate that his recovery will be a little longer than originally hoped.

Any support you are able to provide will go directly to his monthly reoccurring expenses and food when he is able to be discharged from the hospital.
