Our friend, a Black disabled survivor, needs emergency assistance escaping financial abuse after surviving a sexual assault and being left with long COVID.

Brown Recluse is looking to raise $5500 by June 1st to help our friend leave this situation safely and swiftly, to recoup the funds taken by their family, meant for the survivor for their healing from assault.

An additional $5,000 is needed to settle into a safe living situation and pay for medical expenses and treatment for chronic illness and PTSD. This second goal is needed to be made by August 1st.

"I have long covid, which has exacerbated a previous underlying medical condition that I’ve been struggling with. It’s put me in a position where I’m reliant on my immediate family, who have been physically, emotionally, and financially abusive toward me. Recently the situation has escalated, and I’m seeking to raise emergency funds to move out, put my things in storage, and stay with friends in another state until I can figure out how to move forward. I would like to use the funds toward treatment for PTSD + long covid as this would increase the likelihood of me finding stable long term employment. Even when I have been too ill to maintain full-time employment, I have done a lot of fundraising for survivors. Please consider donating any amount. Thank you."
