Emergency Fundraiser for Krystle Piamonte

Donation protected
Krystle Piamonte, an amazing actor colleague of mine, finds herself in an unexpected and difficult situation with her housing. You can read the full story below, but the short of it is: Her housemate who was the master tenant on their lease passed away unexpectedly, and in the midst of grieving this loss, Krystle finds herself needing to make some tough decisions about where she is headed next.

Right now, the goal is to raise $2500 to help Krystle in one of two scenarios.
Scenario 1: Krystle finds two housemates by March 1, and the funds raised would go towards the new security deposit.
Scenario 2: Krystle cannot find housemates and has to start a housing search, and the funds raised would pay for storage, moving costs, bills and other living expenses while she looks for new housing.

Regardless of the scenario, these funds will help greatly to give Krystle a moment to breathe as she considers what her plan of action will be. As we always say *No amount is too small.* $5 can help pay for food. $10 can help with phone bills.

Krystle would never ask for this money herself – this fundraiser is at *my* insistence (after checking with her first, of course). I first met Krystle when she was in my play INSIDE OUT & BACK AGAIN, giving a heart-rending performance as the lead role. And I have set this up because I have seen Krystle's exciting path over the past several years, as she established herself as a Bay Area actor. I would hate to see the momentum she's been building fall apart because of this horrible, unexpected occurrence.

Thank you for your consideration and donation.

Here is Krystle's account of her situation:
"For those of you who are unaware, earlier this year my housemate Marco passed away unexpectedly. I lived with him for 6 years in the Inner Richmond. It’s been an incredibly trying time as I process the grief while dealing with all the legal and financial affairs left in the wake of his untimely passing. He was the master tenant of our home, and with his death, our lease was broken. As I was only a subtenant, I had no rights to keep the original lease. Unfortunately, the landlord was notified of the situation on February 1st without my knowledge and against the plan that was discussed. I found out about this 3 days later when I was informed of the landlord's response requesting a brand new lease and that she would be raising the rent. I took over communication and ended up sending her 3 separate follow-up emails. It took her over two weeks to have her lawyer contact me about the new rental rate. It's already the end of the 3rd week of February and she has yet to deliver the lease for me to review and sign as the new master tenant.

Because I had a feeling things were going to be complicated with the landlord, I have been looking for potential new places to live in SF throughout this whole situation. But so far, all I've come across are scams or people who never bother to reply to my messages. I would appreciate any leads or personal referrals for places in SF (it would be a miracle if any were still in the Richmond) and hopefully before March 1st. My budget is max $1100 per month, utilities preferably included.

It's also stressful having to pack up 6 years worth of stuff in such little time. In addition to looking for housing, I'm also trying to find the right storage facility to hold my stuff just in case I have to crash on couches for a while.

I wish I could afford to stay in my current place, but I can't pay $3300 (+ a $3500 security deposit) on March 1st for the entire 3 bedroom unit while waiting for 2 housemates to come along, even if I prorated the rent. I'm devastated to lose my Inner Richmond home. It was the perfect location for all my needs personally and professionally. I'm gonna miss chatting with the neighbors I've gotten to know on my walks and the folks at the establishments I've frequented. If by miracle chance you know 2 people who need a place to live by March 1st and are down for $1100 per month rent (+ a $1167 security deposit upon move-in), let me know!

So if any of you have wondered what I've been up to and why I've been MIA for the most part and not responding to messages, that's currently my life right now. I'm stressed AF and terrified to be homeless in a week."
