Hello everyone,

I'm writing this because I'm facing an immediate financial and medical crisis. On Monday, June 15, I was suddenly laid off from my long-term job due to a department-wide position elimination. Because our household was already living paycheck-to-paycheck and trying to recover from severe hour cuts earlier this year, combined with residual striggles from hour cuts the prior year, this sudden loss of income has left us completely underwater with barely anything after our immediate bills were paid.

Right now, this is a survival fund. I'm trying to raise immediate money to cover our upcoming rent, bills, food, and urgent medical costs while navigating this abrupt situation since at this time, I am not getting anything beyond the check I received until Unemployment arrives.

Due to administrative delays following the layoff, I don't possess the information required to process immediate state food assistance, leaving us with a critical gap to bridge while that is worked through.
The timing of this layoff is especially devastating for my health. I live with severe chronic health conditions, including Bertolotti’s Syndrome type II-A (Spine fused to hip at joint), osteoarthrotis in my spine, foraminal stenosis, radiculopathy, and ADHD. These conditions cause severe physical limitations, meaning I am pretty strictly limited to remote work roles and need a schedule willing to accommodate frequent doctor visits. I have an urgent, pre-scheduled neurosurgeon intake appointment on June 30 to see if I'm finally a candidate for major spinal surgery, after finally getting in contact with a specialist after years of attempting which was a dream come true.

That said, my employer-sponsored health insurance is being cut off on that exact same day.
Since I won't have insurance, I won't be able to continue treatment, leaving my condition to deteriorate further until I can find suitable healthcare.
Because my current medical providers do not accept state-sponsored insurance, I am facing an immediate battle to fund and secure private COBRA insurance extensions or pay out of pocket ranging amywhere from $150 to $1200 per visit, depending on the requirements.

If I cannot cover these costs, my critical surgical care and specialist access will be completely canceled. This includes even my primary who is helping advocate for me and naintain my much needed ADHD medication as well as pain management to help me combat medical induced insomnia. Adding to this, stress makes these conditions significantly worse, triggering crippling multi day pain flares, causing a cycle of further problems since my last flare required 2 ER visits.

We have a family to take care of, and I'm doing everything in my power to bring in income. I'm jumping straight into a full-time job hunt, launching a full-time streaming schedule, and trying to secure freelance work to supplement my upcoming unemployment benefits.

However, navigating the current tech employment crisis in the US is incredibly difficult—my specialized background is in Ethical human in the middle, no layoff AI framework oversight, design, launch, and management, which is a highly niche field with very few (if any) remote openings right now, since most companies are seeking to cut costs with AI, not keep folks employed and use it as a tool to help people out with the mundane.

Sadly, the standard processing windows for state aid can take weeks we don't have even with documentation, longer without. As a result, we're entirely dependent on the kindness of our community to survive at this time.

Funds donated will go directly toward living costs, and helping ensure I'm able to maintain medical costs required for my spinal surgery as well as whatever other costs come up to keep things normal.

If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this link. Any assistance to help our family push through this terrifying transition means the world to us.

Thank you so much for your time, your shares, and your support. I adore and appreciate all of you.
