My Name is Randy Delaunay I'm starting this Gofund me accout for a dear friend and long time associate James Searles. James has been married to Meg for 15 years and they have 8 year old twins named Audrey and Jackson.
James was recently diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma which is metastatic form of testicular cancer. Due to the pandemic, it was difficult for James to get assessed which caused a delay in diagnosis and treatment. By the time he was able to see the doctor for his tests and biopsy the cancer had spread from the primary site to his lungs, lymph nodes, and brain. Within 2 days of his diagnosis he was admitted to OHSU and started his treatment in the intensive care unit.
The doctors gave him 3 initial "small" rounds of chemo due to the risk of pulmonary hemorrhage. This “appetizer” dose of chemo slowed the spread of the cancer. Once his white blood cells rebound, they will start high dose chemotherapy.
