Help the Employees of Newhall Refinery Rebuild After Today's Devastating Fire

This morning, August 24, 2026, a devastating fire tore through Old Town Newhall, destroying the Newhall Refinery and impacting several neighboring businesses on Main Street. In a matter of hours, hardworking people who showed up to work expecting an ordinary Monday suddenly found themselves without a workplace—and, for many, without a job.

I am starting this fundraiser for the employees of Newhall Refinery—the servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, hosts, and other hardworking people who have made this beloved Newhall establishment part of our community.

My son, Tyler Lyons, has been a loyal and devoted bartender and server at Newhall Refinery for the past six years. For Tyler, and for so many of his coworkers, this wasn't simply a place to clock in and earn a paycheck. It was a job they cared about, a community they were part of, and a livelihood they depended on.

Today, all of that changed in an instant.

The fire that swept through the area destroyed the Newhall Refinery and affected neighboring businesses as well. While we are incredibly grateful that there have been no reported injuries from the fire, the financial impact on the employees is going to be enormous.

These men and women did nothing wrong. They simply went to bed last night expecting to go to work today. Instead, they woke up to find that their workplace was gone.

We are hoping to raise $50,000 to create an emergency fund for the affected Newhall Refinery employees. The goal is to help bridge the gap while they look for other employment and begin figuring out what comes next.

Funds raised will be used to provide emergency assistance with essential living expenses such as rent, groceries, transportation, and other necessities during this unexpected period of unemployment.

Every donation—whether it's $10, $25, $50, $100, or more—can make a difference. And if you aren't able to donate, sharing this fundraiser may be just as valuable. Please help us reach people throughout Santa Clarita and beyond who know these employees, have been served by them, have shared a meal or a drink with them, or simply want to help neighbors who were suddenly put in an incredibly difficult position.

Newhall has always been a community that takes care of its own.

Now it's our turn to take care of the people who have taken care of us.

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, coworkers, and social networks.

Let's help Tyler and his Newhall Refinery family get through this difficult time and give them a little breathing room while they find their next chapter.

Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support for the people of Old Town Newhall.
