Emergency fund for Kaylee Blake family, meals, etc
One of my best friend in the whole wide world’s daughter Kaylee was recently life flighted to the hospital and diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome. I don’t know if anyone else has been affected with themselves or through a love one but Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare but serious autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in your peripheral nervous system (PNS).
This leads to weakness, numbness, and tingling, and can eventually cause paralysis.
The cause of this condition is unknown, but it’s typically triggered by an infectious illness, such as gastroenteritis (irritation of the stomach or intestines) or a lung infection.
Guillain-Barré is rare, affecting only about 1 in 100,000 Americans.
Kaylee was born with cerebral palsy 21 years ago and NEVER let her disability stop her from pursuing her dream to become a teacher. Unfortunately that dream will be put on hold while she fights to get back her ability to speak and use of her already limited mobility. Her Mother is struggling with diabetic keto acidosis and is obviously disheartened with her daughter’s condition. She also has a boy who while in high school is somewhat self sufficient could use some help with meals and I thought..just maybe MY friends would be willing to pitch in and help a bit monetarily so he can get some take out,etc while Mom is on the mend and trying to care for herself and her daughter at the hospital. Every little bit helps. XO.
