I never imagined I’d be writing a GoFundMe, but here we are in a really tough situation. My fiancé, Derek, was in a freak accident while riding his electric bike. There was road construction, and he lost control and crashed, ending in a broken wrist and a devastating leg injury—breaking his leg in 4 spots requiring surgery. (Possible surgery on wrist now too, which means ANOTHER separate surgery as they already completed the one on his leg.) His road to recovery will be long and painful according to his surgeon.

As the primary provider for our family, including three kids, this accident has left us facing financial hardship that will be coming our way. Without health insurance and unable to work for the foreseeable future, the medical expenses and daily costs are quickly going to be adding up before we know it.
