Emergency Fund for Codio Family
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
On Nov 18 as a result of an unexpected tropical storm in Las Terrenas Dominican Republic the house of my good friends, the Codio family (Mom - Charlene, Dad - Rafael, and their 4 children) has been completely flooded. The water inside the house was about 3 foot deep so everything has been affected (electrical, septic, water etc) and is now contaminated. It happened so fast that there was no time at all to save everything. The water literally poured in like a river. They have lost major appliances, furniture, and their house is now uninhabitable.
This family give so much in support to their community so now it’s our turn to support them and they really need help. They cannot return to their home, the home they have spent the last 2 years building. Everything they had went into this home and now so much is lost. You can imagine they are devastated. They are all safe which is the most important thing but now they need your help with an emergency fund to help them back on their feet. They will need to find a rental as soon as possible and are going to need funds in order to secure something for their family. They will also have a lot of additional and unexpected expenses for clean up alone, their house may not be inhabitable for a long time. The kitchen is completely lost, electrical and plumbing will need to be redone and there is just so much more. Right now as the house and surrounding property is still full of water there is no way to determine to actual extent of the damage. Let’s help this family get into a new place as soon as possible.
