Hello everyone,

We are reaching out to our community to ask for your prayers, love, and financial support for my 20 year old little brother, Raleigh Anders, and our mom, Patty Anders.

On August 7th, Raleigh became critically ill after developing necrotizing pancreatitis. Raleigh had a gallstone that blocked the duct to his pancreas causing severe inflammation and infection to his pancreas which rapidly triggered severe sepsis. The sepsis led to multi-organ failure and a severe lung injury known as ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). To make matters worse, he has also developed hospital-acquired pneumonia and has recently started dialysis due to AKI (acute kidney injury).

Raleigh has been on life support for three weeks now. Doctors expect he will remain on life support for several more weeks, if not months. Even after he survives this critical window, he faces a long road of healing, extensive physical rehabilitation, and likely long-term mobility aids once he is finally able to come home.

Since the day Raleigh was admitted, our mom, Patty, has not left his side. She has been unable to work since August 7th. Like many of Americans, my mom lives paycheck to paycheck, and this unexpected life threatening medical emergency is causing additional stress and hardship on our mom that we would like to relieve her of.

Our mom has been the rock and sole provider of our family since we tragically lost our dad nearly 10 years ago after wrecking his car off a mountain side and was missing for almost two weeks before he was thankfully found. She pulled us through the unthinkable back then, but watching her young child fight for every breath on life support has brought a whole new level of heartbreak. As she put it, watching her baby struggle to breathe is worse for her than when daddy was missing. For us, there is no pain worse than watching our mother carry this weight while trying to stay strong at his bedside.

We are setting up this fundraiser to relieve the overwhelming financial burden on our family. All funds raised will go directly toward:

Raleigh’s emergency medical expenses and long-term rehabilitation needs.

Living expenses and lost wages for our mom Patty, ensuring she can remain by Raleigh’s bedside without the terrifying threat of falling behind on bills.
