On the evening of April 9th, our dear friend Baby, a trans individual, was violently attacked right in front of her home in Amsterdam Noord. We are raising funds to support her recovery and help cover urgent expenses following this traumatic incident.

Baby was the victim of a violent robbery attempt. The attacker tried to steal her bag, which contained her passport, ID, and other essential personal belongings. During the assault, she was punched, pushed, and forced to the ground, resulting in multiple injuries including bruises, scratches, and severe damage to her fingernails.

Several of her fingernails were completely torn from the nail bed and required immediate medical treatment under local anaesthesia as well as several broken fingers, very injured knee.

The police have filed an official report and are currently investigating the incident, including reviewing surveillance footage and collecting DNA evidence. Given the circumstances and the nature of the attack, there is concern that this may have been motivated by transphobia.

Due to her injuries, Baby is currently unable to work. Her hands require time to heal before she can resume normal activities. As she does not have health insurance, she has had to pay for emergency medical care upfront.

We are asking for your support to help cover the following essential costs:

Medical expenses: €700 (emergency treatment)

Safe transportation: €300 (including immediate transport after the attack and safe travel in the coming weeks)

Rent: €1,100 (May)

Living expenses: €900 (April–May, including replacement of stolen items)
