EMERGENCY FOOD for 750 Children
This month, Pastor Sam had to make the difficult choice between water and food for the children.
• This week, these children have eaten one meal a day.
Today I found out about the crisis, and we were able to send some funds…..But more is needed to help these dear children until next month's funds hopefully come in.
Pastor Samuel Wafula is an amazing, enterprising, compassionate man.
When I first met him in 2015 (I traveled to Kenya to speak at a conference), he was caring for 50 children. Seven years later, the numbers have grown to 750!
Most of these children were rescued, by Sam, from the dangerous streets of Kenya, where they were abandoned due to domestic violence, gang warfare, and extreme poverty.
Sam and his wife Sharon run two small businesses to generate funds, and they grow some of their own food. Donations from caring people like yourself make up the difference – most of the time.
This month the orphanage’s well water pump needed to be replaced, and so food funds were used in order that children would have necessary-for-life water.
- Thank you for any help you can give today!
If you want to learn more about these children, feel free to contact me on FB, or you can go to African Child Outreach (ACO) website: https://www.connieruthchristiansen.com/africanchildoutreach
Terri and I no longer run the ACO non-profit, but we still do our best to help in emergency situations such as this.
If you want to give on a regular basis, there is a link provided on the ACO website – you will be rerouted to FGC- Blessings Hope Mission (the group that we turned ACO over to).
