Border terrier welfare are assisting me with my appeal.
Hi, my name is Rachel I’m writing this on behalf of my daughter and I.
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help for our little brown bear, who urgently needs eyesight saving surgery.
Our Charlie is a 7 year-old Border Terrier who brings so much love, joy, and laughter into our lives. He’s so full of life, has a lovely personality, is always by our side, and truly part of our family. Charlie is really energetic and totally ball mad. He loves to run on his walks which he has stopped doing now and instead walks close to our legs. Seeing him quickly losing his sight over the past 2 weeks has been absolutely heartbreaking.
Charlie was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 3. The last 4 years through a strict and constant regime we have managed his diabetes perfectly.
So to be told at his last checkup he has cataracts forming in both eyes and will be totally blind in 4 weeks has totally devastated us.
He has been referred to an eye specialist vet who can operate on Monday as time is of the essence. The operation cost is £4300 then he’ll need eye drops everyday and follow up appointments thereafter.
I have insurance however that is all used up to cover his annual cost of insulin, syringes and curve check up.
I have used all my savings towards his operation but there is still a shortfall
This cataract operation is the only chance Charlie has to see again.
If anyone can donate to help Charlie regain his sight it would mean so much to my daughter and I.
