Emergency evacuation funds for me and my family in Gaza

Donation protected

My name is Hamouda Shaat, a 29-year-old doctor from Gaza, Palestine. My family and I are currently facing a critical situation. Due to the ongoing conflict, we are seeking to evacuate five family members to safety in Egypt. Unfortunately, they lost their passports during the displacement, and we need your assistance to secure visas (approximately $5,000 per person) and additional financial support to help them establish a new life in Egypt.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has created a humanitarian crisis. Thousands of civilians have been displaced, injured, or killed. Witnessing the suffering firsthand has been devastating.

My passion for medicine began early in life. In 2013, my parents generously supported my brothers and me in pursuing our dream of becoming doctors. Sadly, we lost our father to bronchial carcinoma in 2015. Despite this hardship, my mother has made incredible sacrifices to ensure we could study medicine in Egypt under the best possible conditions.

After seven years of hard work and dedication, I proudly graduated from medical school in 2019. Since then, I have worked as an ICU doctor at the Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza. Witnessing children in pain, families torn apart, and civilians dying due to the conflict has been a constant source of heartbreak.

My dream has always been to continue my medical education by pursuing a residency program in Germany. This path requires learning a new language and securing significant financial resources. Unfortunately, the ongoing conflict has made achieving this dream increasingly difficult.

My mother, Manal Shaat (56): A vice principal at a school that was unfortunately destroyed in the conflict. Due to the war, she is currently unable to work.
My brother, Samer (27), also graduated from medical school in 2020. He has been unable to find work as a doctor for over a year. He is now volunteering at a refugee shelter located within a school in Rafah.

My sister, Nada Shaat (19): A first-semester nursing student at a university that was also damaged in the conflict.
My youngest brother, Abdulmajid Shaat (17): A high school student whose school was destroyed by the war. He's in his final year of school, a clever, outstanding, and ambitious individual with a big dream he's determined to achieve.

We are reaching out to you with hope that you can provide support for our family's evacuation and our continued medical education. Your contribution would make a world of difference for us.
