Aya and her family of 5 are currently taking refuge in the north of Rafa, Palestine, where the conditions are bleak and further violence and displacement are imminent.
Aya is my Arabic tutor who I have known for a year now. She doesn’t want me to share further details about her family for fear of being targeted. But I have met them all. They are a beautiful family caught in the most dire situation. Aya’s mother is with them and she is sick, which is made worse by the constant displacements
They are seeking to go to Egypt where they have relatives and the family can be safe.
The cost of getting them out is $7,000 per person and they will likely need money to restart once they relocate. Aid groups are overwhelmed and this seems like the only and last ditch effort to help them.
